FIVE THINGS THAT WILL HAPPEN IF DAVIDO AND CHIOMA REALLY DO BREAK UP

A few days ago, there were reports in the media that Davido and Chioma had ended things between them. The reports turned out to be false, with the OBO even threatening to sue the tabloid, before posting several videos of he and his "bae" chilling and having a swell time. 

The report may have been false, but it had me wondering what repercussions the breakup of the music industry’s most loved couple of 2018 would bring. I truly hope that it never happens, but if it eventually does, here are five things that I expect to happen afterwards.

1) THE WORLD WILL STOP - Well not literally, but the world of many of Davido and Chioma’s fans would come to a halt, because they’ve grown to be so emotionally invested into the couple. We’ve all hoped Chioma to be Davido’s final bus stop, and an end to their relationship would crush many fans, me included, who live for their adorable moments.

2) DAVIDO WOULD LOSE A FEW FANS - If Davido does break her heart, expect a few fans to decide to pick sides, with a few maybe strong enough to boycott Davido’s addictive music, and build up their future playlists from elsewhere.

3) THE OBO WOULD CHURN OUT HEARTBREAK MUSIC - Even if Davido breaks her heart, I expect him to be heartbroken too, because he loves her so much. Chioma is his world, and life without her would be hard to cope with. What do artistes do when they are heartbroken? Sing songs about it. Don’t expect him to go full Adele-21, but a song or two would help him with the grief.

4) THEY’D LOSE OUT ON SOME DEALS - With the announcement of their relationship came a couple of endorsement deals, one or two being joint. They also get paid to appear at events together. A split up, and deals would inevitably fall through. Not a pretty picture, just ask this Psquare, who lost out on a lot of potential deals. It would be a shame for our favourite couple to suffer the same fate. 

5) ASSURANCE WOULD GET MOVED TO THE ARCHIVES - Assurance is undoubtedly one of the biggest hits of 2018 on the African continent. The song and video shot to the top of the charts upon release and have continued to trend as Davido and Chioma’s relationship has blossomed. An end to their relationship may increase demand of the song for the immediate future, but don’t expect a heart broken Davido to stand before tens of thousands of people to sing CHIOMA MY LOVER. Nah. Ain’t gonna happen.

And there u have it guys. Remember we are are only speaking hypothetically. A Davido and Chioma breakup is the very last thing that we want to happen. We are super hoping that their relationship transcends into exchanging vows, having kids and growing old together, and hopefully none of the listed five breakup repercussions would ever happen to them.
